Breaking New Ground: RISE Student Pledges TriDelta Sorority

Members of TriDelta Sorority.

RISE celebrated another first—Junior, Veronica, participated in sorority recruitment and ran home to TriDelta! Veronica’s pledge to TriDelta marks an exciting new chapter in her college experience and a historic moment for Southern Miss. This milestone reflects RISE’s commitment to supporting students in pursuing their interests both inside and outside the classroom.

RISE Executive Coordinator, Danielle Mullins shared, “RISE To The Top! is all about creating opportunities for students to become fully immersed and included in every aspect of student life as a USM Golden Eagle. Watching Veronica go through the recruitment process, receiving a bid, and running home to TriDelta has filled me with great pride, as this is a historic moment—not only for RISE, but also for the university. RISE has witnessed that this opportunity is more than simply joining a sisterhood—it is about being heard, seen, valued, and included in every aspect of the college experience. This experience exemplifies what is possible when we believe in every single student’s potential. Veronica is not just making history—she is opening doors for others to follow.”

The RISE TTT! Southern Miss program, fully established in 2024 with a pilot program since 2015, is a four-year, eight-semester inclusive college program incorporating academics and employment preparation, leading to a certificate upon completion. The program is focused on four major areas including academics, community engagement, employment and student life.
